        Stripah!

Here is a nice picture submitted by a resident of Plum Island.   Eric and his dad, Peter were fishing in their special spot near  the coast of Maine on September 30th when they caught  this 41" 30 lb beauty on an eel.

Fish for 2007 from Mark, Linda and Tim

July 1st, 2007   44”    35lbs. North wind    Full moon.  Fish was caught on a live eel.  There wasn’t a thing inside the fishes stomach. Tim and I caught several other fish that night that were within the same size range as this one

more fish from the same night

These were part of last nights catch at the "secret spot" (Fri, August 10th).
Went there at 10:30 and was heading home at
1:30AM I took fish from 33" @ 14lbs to fish @ 40" and 26lbs. All on eels. I
was using small eels (9") as that was all the bait shop had. I was
pleasantly surprised to find tons of sperling swimming in the water about
six inches long so this worked like a charm. The wind or breeze was in my
face and I was out of bait (all six eels) by 1 AM.

I just wanted to make a short statement about the sadness we as a club feel on the passing of a Lifetime Member of the Plum Island Surfcasters.

Bill Lynn passed away on the morning of June 27th.   Many of the club members went to the services, etc.  We will have a statement in our next months newsletter from  some of his closest fishing buddies.   May he rest in peace.  Please read the August Newsletter for story on Bill.
